Born and raised in Joshua Tree, California, Chef James Cooper began his culinary career at the iconic Crossroads Cafe. This historic cafe, nestled in the heart of Joshua Tree, has been a local favorite since 1984, known for its welcoming atmosphere and delicious comfort food.
Inspired by the many travelers he met passing through Joshua Tree, He new he had to find a way to combine his passion for food with his desire to see the world. In 2012 Chef James left the deserts of So Cal and landed in the Icy waters Alaska where he honed his culinary skills creating innovative dishes for a small boutique adventure company. Over the past 10 years, Chef James’s culinary journey has taken him around the world, from the Panama Canal to the Sea of Cortez in Mexico, from Belize to Canada, Alaska to Colombia, Costa Rica to Hawaii, and from Oregon to Texas, Seattle and beyond. His travels have not only enriched his culinary skills but also inspired his creations with a diverse array of flavors and ingredients.
Currently, Chef James is a chef for National Geographic’s cruise line, where he continues to explore the world for culinary inspiration. He and his family have recently settled in Northwest Arkansas, where he is excited to share his love of food and travel with the local community.
Chef James believes that food is a universal language that can bring people together, and he is committed to creating dishes that not only tantalize the taste buds but also tell a story. With his extensive culinary experience and innovative approach to cooking, Chef James is ready to take you on a culinary journey around the world.
